Stay current with yoga4Him news. We are trying to find ways to reach everyone. Not everyone is on FaceBook. You may miss news announcements at the studio on our new info board. Our newsletters are monthly, at best. And honestly we aren’t even sure these are read. 🙂 We promise not to bombard you with weekly texts. Just reminders of events, registrations, cancellations due to illness/weather, etc.

As we all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. You may or may not know that my mom lost her 4-year battle to breast cancer last November. Cammy’s mom lost her battle to lung cancer last October. As a way to honor their memories, the studio will be donating 10% of October sales to Southern Care Hospice in memory of Carol Hester (Vanessa’s mom) and to Kindred Hospice in memory of Peggy Day (Cammy’s mom). We want to celebrate these ladies who fought so hard to keep their earthly temples for as long as they could. We want to encourage all of us to take care of ourselves while we can. Tomorrow is never promised. My mom loved freebies and give-a-ways (who doesn’t), so we will be holding a drawing at the end of October to give away 5 prizes. Continue reading to learn how you can increase your chances of winning a prize.

Halloween Glow Yoga….FOR KIDS

Our 2nd glow yoga event is on the books! It is for the kiddos this time, ages 5-12, and it will be Halloween themed. Our first glow event sold out. Don’t wait too long to reserve your spot(s). Click here to sign up

Can they wear their costumes? Yes, if they can move/breathe freely in them. We will be doing some yoga after all.

Can parents attend with them? Yes, but we have very limited space and would like to have this open to as many kids as possible.

What if I’m uncomfortable leaving my kids there? We totally understand, and invite you to schedule a visit with us, meet Vanessa, see the studio in hopes that will give you peace of mind. We’d like to think that if you are comfortable dropping your kids off at a birthday party, you’ll be comfortable in letting them attend this event. If not, then please also register for yourself and join them.Saturday October 19th

Warrior of the Month Club

I’m beyond excited to share our September warrior of the month with you…Carllene Johns. How cute is she in this pic….and her yoga mat is so much fun!

See what she has to say below, but what I’d like to share about Carllene….

She walks into the studio full of life and never fails to make us laugh. The stories she has shared and things she has said….😂🤪😮😱🤣 Thank you, Carllene, for being so real and transparent!

She inspires me to want to be a runner (it’ll never happen 😂), but her discipline to set and reach her running goals is inspirational. I can say the same for her discipline outside of running. She works out hard with her boot camp family, completes challenges with them, commits to a weekly yoga practice at the studio, and often runs after our class. And idk how many 5k runs she completes every year. She helps to take care of her family. Basically, she’s a champion at this life thing, finding her balance with taking care of herself and others.

You can find Carllene at our Wed morning Gentle class. I love that although she’s physically able to do any class on the schedule, she has found one that suits her and complements everything else that she does outside of the studio.

How long have you attending classes at yoga4HIM?
I have been going o yoga4Him for a little over a year. I must admit I had a stigma for yoga. I had been to several studios with different instructors. Trying to get used to being still, being quiet, breathing, and the same teaching routine steered me away from yoga. I had driven by yoga4Him a few times while in downtown Wetumpka and then one day I stopped, got the information about class times and a phone number to make an appointment. And I did. Best idea I’ve ever had about yoga! Now I love yoga but only at yoga4Him.

What benefits (physical or otherwise) have you noticed with your yoga practice?
I have tight hip flexors and hamstrings. Attending yoga with Vanessa has helped me relax these and get more out of my weight lifting. Of course, while doing other stretches, I have found out I have tightness in other areas too.

What’s your favorite pose and why?
Butterfly pose and anything on the wall for my legs is my favorite. It’s kinda hard to pinpoint because each time I attend, there are new stretches. Not the same old flow. If I have a request to stretch a particular area, Vanessa handles it. If there is a stretch that seems to alert another part that needs help, I only need to ask during the session.

What advice do you have to any newbie yogis or anyone hesitant to try a class with us?
My advice to people that have never tried yoga…don’t knock it til you try it. I used to be in the newbie shoes. I had the misconception it was so intense on humming, holding fingers together and sitting in an upright position for an extended time. Yoga is exceptional on just being yourself for your session and knowing peace.
