FAQs

How do I get started?

Click on our “Sign Up” page, select the class you’d like to attend. From there, you will be redirected to our MOMOYOGA scheduling software site and prompted to create an account. TIP: create your account from a desktop, laptop, tablet…anything with a screen bigger than a cell phone.

Do I need to sign up online?

We HIGHLY encourage online registrations before you walk into class. For several reasons: it reduces the time it takes to check you in, we have more time to help get you set up in the practice room, we have very limited space so pre-registration guarantees you will not be turned away, it helps the teacher to better prepare for class with the use of props and/or spacing within the room. So, yes, please register online as often as you can.

What are the studio hours?

We do not have your typical 8-5 business hours. We open the doors 10-15 minutes prior to class and close up shop within 15-30 minutes after class. If you would like to tour the studio or meet with Vanessa outside of class times, please call at 334-301-7714 to set up a time.

What do I need to bring?

We have everything that you need. If you already have your own mat, we encourage you to bring it. We do have extra mats to use at no charge. You may want to bring a large towel in case you want to add it over your mat. We have a water cooler, bottled water for $.50, complimentary hand/sweat towels. Just bring yourself with an open mind and open heart.

Can my kids participate in class?

The minimum age for kids to participate is 14 years old. We respectfully ask that children 14+ are mature, can handle a heated environment, can respect the space and quietness of others. 18 and under require parental consent (a consent form is available at the studio). Under 16 must have a guardian present in class.

Can my kids hang out at the studio while I'm in class?

Unfortunately, no. We do not have a childcare options while we are in class.

What should I wear?

Avoid baggy, loose fitting clothes. For the ladies, a simple pair of yoga leggings, sports bra, tank top work best. We ask that no short shorts are worn and that tank tops remain ON during class. For guys, yoga leggings for men (if that’s your thing), shorts (if they are baggy, please wear under armor underneath), t-shirt or tank top. We also ask that the fellows keep their shirts on during class, too. We know it’s hot, but if the instructor can power through a class while keeping on all articles of clothing, we respectfully ask that you stay modestly covered too.

I'm brand new to yoga. Where do I start?

While we do have classes designed specifically for beginners, we understand that sometimes we just have to go with a class simply because it fits our schedule. Please trust us when we say everything we do can be adjusted for all levels. Refer to our Class Descriptions page for to see what class best suits your needs. Check out the ones labeled “low” intensity or say within the description they are perfect for beginners. Call us at 334-301-7714 if you have any questions.

What if I'm not flexible?

Perfect! That’s why we do yoga…to improve our flexibility. We all have to start somewhere. Our studio contains everyday folks at all different levels of fitness and journeys in life. We truly practice without any sense of judgment or competition. Just show up, we’ll help with the rest.

Why is the studio heated?

We practice in the heat because of its many benefits. The primary benefit is that it’s safer to move and stretch in the heat. Our bodies naturally relax and open up in a heated room. The room is controlled with infrared heating panels at low humidity levels (using a dehumidifier on those hot summer days). If you are apprehensive to the heat, don’t be. It is very addictive. However, we do have a few non-heated classes to choose from and a few low-intensity restorative heated classes to ease you in to the heat. Read up on our class descriptions to see what’s best for you. Call us at 334-301-7714 if we can assist you on where to start.
